Missouri Report – May 2021

We just finished the AAPD’s first virtual Pediatric Oral Health Advocacy Conference. While we missed seeing each other in person in DC, there was still the opportunity to advocate for children. Zoom and phone calls were still an excellent way to connect to policy makers in the Capitol, and our message was well received. Two residents joined us this year. Christy Tran and Mary Margaret Pearman did an excellent job advocating for Missouri children. We are so fortunate to have excellent residents throughout our state and around the country that are looking to come back to Missouri. Multiple pediatric dentists also attended the virtual Missouri Dental Association state advocacy event, which we have seen early wins in the session already regarding downcoding, and temporary COVID liability protections.

We have our yearly CE event and business meeting planned for September 18 with Drs. Tim Wright and LaRee Johnson discussing enamel hypoplasia diagnosis and treatment modalities. Find more information and register at moapd.org.
